Hardwicke Street Reserve

2 Hardwicke St, Summerhill, TAS

4.6(103 reviews)

Hardwicke Street Reserve, which appears to encompass or sit adjacent to Tremal Reserve, offers a sprawling and picturesque environment for dogs and their owners. The park features expansive open fields with a mix of lush green grass and drier, natural turf, providing ample space for off-leash exercise and play. A significant highlight is the natural landscape, which includes a serene river with a rocky weir and a variety of mature trees, such as eucalyptus and willows, offering plenty of natural shade throughout the day. The area is partially enclosed with various fencing types, including wooden post-and-rail and wire mesh, though it maintains an open, rural feel. Facilities include a sheltered pavilion with bench seating, allowing visitors to rest while keeping an eye on their pets. The terrain is mostly flat with some gentle slopes, making it accessible for long walks. While the park excels in natural beauty and space, specific amenities like dedicated agility equipment or clearly marked waste stations are not prominent in the visual evidence. Overall, it provides a tranquil, nature-focused atmosphere ideal for active dogs.

Best dog park in Launceston, because it’s big, fenced, includes several separate sections, there’s some shade and a lovely walking track through the bush with excellent sniffing opportunities 😊 Also there are almost always other dogs there with friendly owners. Often when we go to other dog parks there’s no one else there. …
