Dog Beach - New Brighton Beach

7/11 Ocean Ave, New Brighton, NSW

4.7(45 reviews)

Dog Beach at New Brighton Beach, located near Ocean Shores, Australia, is a vast and picturesque off-leash coastal area perfect for canine exercise and social play. The park features an expansive stretch of fine, light-colored sand that provides a massive open space for dogs to run freely and fetch balls. The ground surface is entirely natural sand, transitioning from soft, dry dunes to wet, firm sand near the water's edge where dogs can splash in the waves. While there is a simple post-and-wire fence along the dunes to protect local vegetation, the beach itself is not enclosed, offering an unrestricted and natural environment. There are no visible man-made facilities such as toilets, water stations, benches, or trash cans directly on the beach area shown in the images. Shade is extremely limited, provided only by sparse coastal trees and shrubs along the dune line. The atmosphere is serene and natural, characterized by rolling waves and wide-open skies. It is a primitive, natural dog exercise area where owners should bring their own supplies like fresh water and waste bags. The large space allows for plenty of social interaction between dogs or quiet, long walks along the shoreline.

Loved the beach - not too many people and easy access. There was a bit of debris (logs) floating around but they may have been due to recent weather.
