41 Matthews St, Sunshine, VIC

4.8(29 reviews)

Matthews Hill Reserve is a large, expansive park featuring significant off-leash areas for dogs. The terrain is characterized by rolling grassy hills and wide-open fields, providing ample space for dogs to run and play. The park is well-equipped with various community amenities, including a modern playground with climbing nets and slides, sheltered picnic areas with tables, and multiple stations of outdoor fitness equipment. Paved walking paths wind through the reserve, connecting different sections and making it accessible for walkers. While large portions of the park are open, some areas are bordered by metal or chain-link fencing. Mature eucalyptus trees are scattered throughout the landscape, offering patches of natural shade, though many of the large grassy expanses remain quite open to the sun. Practical facilities such as benches and trash cans are conveniently located along the paths. The overall atmosphere is that of a versatile, multi-use community recreation space that caters well to dog owners, families, and fitness enthusiasts alike.

Great park to exercise on the outdoor gym equipment. Great place to walk the dog. They are the two reasons I regularly go to Matthews Hill Reserve. The locals are very friendly too.
