Newport Lakes Park Dog Off Leash Area
18 Bruce St, Newport, VIC
Newport Lakes Park Dog Off Leash Area offers a dedicated, fenced-in space for canine exercise within a larger scenic nature reserve. The off-leash section is characterized by a vast, flat expanse of well-maintained grass, providing ample room for dogs to run and play. The perimeter is secured by a wire mesh fence with wooden posts, ensuring a safe environment. Inside the enclosure, visitors can find several sturdy wooden benches for seating, along with young trees and natural log features that add character to the landscape. The park's atmosphere is tranquil, blending suburban convenience with natural beauty, as evidenced by the nearby lake and diverse native vegetation like wattle. While the dog area itself is quite open to the sun, the surrounding parkland provides significant shade through mature trees. Notable landmarks, such as the Newport Power Station chimney, are visible from the grounds. This park serves as a vital community hub for pet owners, offering a clean and spacious outdoor setting for social interaction and physical activity.

Small fenced park - I wish I could just run my dog freely outside.

My family visited from NZ and Sydney and stayed in Newport. My sisters own 5 staffys between them and the dogs really needed a space to run. The fences were high enough they couldn't jump over. The grounds were clean and nil holes in field. …

Lovely place. The gravel isn't my fave thing to walk on worn my elderly dog so we stick to the field. Lots of people don't adhere to the leash rules in the on leash area despite there being a big off leash area.
