47 Matthew St, McCrae, VIC

4.2(5 reviews)

Benbenjie Reserve Dog Off Leash Area offers a spacious and versatile environment for dogs and their owners. The park features expansive grassy fields, providing ample room for dogs to run and play freely. The terrain is primarily flat with some dirt paths cutting through the greenery. One of the standout features is its proximity to a sandy beach and water, allowing for aquatic play. For convenience, the reserve includes a dedicated water tap for dogs to stay hydrated and trash cans for waste disposal. While the dog area itself is off-leash, it is bordered by various types of fencing, including chain-link and wooden styles, which separate the park from neighboring residential properties and a nearby children's playground. The playground is well-equipped with slides and climbing structures, making the reserve a family-friendly destination. Mature trees are scattered throughout the area, offering natural shade for visitors. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and open, catering to both active play and leisurely strolls in a suburban coastal setting.

We had just finished lunch at a winery and needed somewhere for our dog to run. This was close by. Just enough for a ball and frisbee throw

nice open spot. The only downfall is there’s no tap to give my dog a drink. A good appropriate tap you could add is a push tap. But other than that it’s a pretty good park. Could use some fencing so the dogs won’t run away. But it’s ok!
