Rathmines Reserve Dog Off Leash Area
169 Rathmines Rd, Hawthorn East, VIC
Rathmines Reserve Dog Off Leash Area is a sprawling urban park in Australia, characterized by its vast, well-maintained grassy fields and a central sports oval. The park provides a versatile environment for dog owners, featuring large open spaces for running and play. Mature trees are interspersed throughout the reserve, offering ample natural shade, complemented by a man-made shelter over a picnic table. Essential amenities for pet owners are present, including a water fountain with an integrated dog bowl and conveniently located trash cans. While the area is designated for off-leash use, it lacks a fully enclosed, high-fenced perimeter, instead utilizing low barriers and natural boundaries. The terrain is primarily flat with some gentle embankments. Beyond the dog-friendly areas, the park includes a modern children's playground and paved walking paths, fostering a vibrant, multi-generational community atmosphere. The surface is predominantly natural grass, with woodchips used in the playground area.

Excellent expansive space for walking, running and letting your dog off the leash. Organised cricket and football played here some weekend afternoons
