Egan Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

145 Rennie St, Coburg, VIC

4.7(107 reviews)

Egan Reserve Dog Off Leash Area is an expansive, naturalistic park located along a waterway, likely the Merri Creek. It features large, open grassy fields perfect for running and playing fetch, as well as wooded sections with dirt paths for exploration. The park offers a mix of sun and shade provided by numerous mature eucalyptus trees. Facilities include park benches for owners and a unique log-seating circle nestled among the trees. A notable feature is its proximity to a creek, which can occasionally flood the lower banks as seen in the images. The reserve also encompasses a large concrete velodrome, adding a unique architectural element to the landscape. The atmosphere is peaceful and rustic, providing a significant amount of space for dogs to roam off-leash in a semi-wild environment. The ground surface is primarily natural grass and dirt, with some areas covered in leaf litter and mulch. There is no evidence of perimeter fencing, suggesting an open-access park for well-behaved dogs.

Great little area to walk the dog off lead, lots of bush land and a river so the dog can have a good sniffari as well as a dip in the water to cool off. Lot's of pathways and areas for bike riding too. Will be bringing my dog back here, for sure!
