Black Rock Beach Dog Off Leash Area

288 Beach Rd, Black Rock, VIC

4.4(14 reviews)

Black Rock Beach Dog Off Leash Area is a picturesque coastal destination in Australia, offering a vast and varied environment for dogs and their owners. The park primarily consists of a long, sandy beach interspersed with rocky outcrops and shallow tidal pools, providing excellent opportunities for dogs to swim and explore. The area is notably spacious, featuring wide sandbars where dogs can run freely off-leash. The ground surface is a natural mix of sand, rock, and coastal scrub, with some grassy verges along the elevated walking paths. While there is no formal fencing, the beach is bordered by natural slopes and vegetation. Facilities are minimal, focusing on the natural landscape, though elevated lookouts with sturdy railings and tall lighting poles are present along the perimeter paths. Shade is limited on the open beach, so visitors should plan accordingly. The overall atmosphere is serene and scenic, especially during sunset, making it a popular spot for community members to enjoy the outdoors with their pets in a large, unconfined space.

Nice stretch of beach for dogs to explore off lead. Could be very windy on cold days. Toilets for humans near by.

It isn't really a dog beach. The dogs only allowed in the cold season and everything.
