St Kilda Harbour Dog Beach

Victoria, AU, VIC

4.7(15 reviews)

St Kilda Harbour Dog is a picturesque coastal dog-friendly area situated along the shores of Melbourne, Australia. This expansive park is characterized by its wide, sandy beach and calm, shallow waters, making it an ideal spot for dogs that enjoy digging, running, and swimming. The ground surface is almost entirely natural sand, providing a soft and engaging environment for pets. The area offers a sense of freedom with its large open space, and while some dogs are seen on leashes, others roam freely, suggesting a popular off-leash atmosphere. There is no visible perimeter fencing, as the park transitions naturally from the beach to coastal scrubland and walking paths. Facilities within the immediate beach zone appear minimal; there are no visible benches, trash cans, or water stations in the provided images. However, a small wooden bridge and designated paths are present in the adjacent vegetation. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Melbourne city skyline across the water, especially during sunset. The lack of shade structures and separate enclosures for different dog sizes indicates a natural, unstructured park experience focused on the beach and bay.

Fantastic dog beach especially when the tide is out. Lots of space for the dogs to run around. The only downside is that despite being a dog beach it occasionally gets people who are trying to enjoy the beach, which is not great when dogs start playing around them.

Always take our King charles cavalier here to cool off in the summer. She lives to chase the birds and get into the water. Be mindful as sometimes their are dead puffer fish on the shore line. …

Small area of beach just north of the main part of St Kilda that is open to dog owners to bring their pets for a swim and run around. At low tide there is plenty of sand to play on. Only a short walk from the pubs and cafes of St Kilda itself if you’re feeling thirsty afterward.
