Doug Grant Reserve Dog Off Leash Area
274 Queen St, Altona, VIC
Doug Grant Reserve Dog Off Leash Area is a spacious and versatile public park located in Australia, offering a blend of expansive open fields and a dedicated fenced enclosure. The reserve is characterized by its vast grassy landscapes, providing ample room for dogs to run and play off-leash, as clearly marked on the informative park signage. A specifically fenced-in section offers a more secure environment, featuring young trees, sturdy wooden benches, and natural log elements that serve as both seating and exploratory features for pets. The ground surface is predominantly natural grass, which transitions between lush green and drier patches, alongside well-maintained gravel and paved shared-use paths ideal for walking and cycling. While the park provides some shade through scattered mature trees and newly planted saplings, much of the terrain remains open. Visitors can enjoy scenic views of the adjacent Laverton Creek wetlands and coastal trails. The atmosphere is peaceful and community-focused, though owners must respect the designated habitat protection zones where dogs are prohibited to safeguard local migratory and nesting bird populations.

Great dog park! Early mornings are best for small dogs, and there are always big dogs around the rest of the time. TAKE CARE in spring and summer, as there is at least one tiger snake that lives in the bushes/trees on the far right
Known for its 'off lead' area for dogs, it also has other great reasons to visit: close to beach, birdwatching and walk.
Our pups 🐶 LOVE❤️ this spot and meet lots of friendly Dogs. We've never worried about letting our bubbas off leash & play around!!! …
