Sandgate Foreshore Dog Off-Leash Area

25 First Ave, Sandgate, QLD

4.8(119 reviews)

The Sandgate Foreshore Dog Off-Leash Area in Australia provides a versatile recreational space for dogs, featuring both a dedicated fenced enclosure and access to the natural coastline. The fenced section is a spacious, well-maintained grassy field secured by chain-link fencing and a double-gate entry system. This area is characterized by its significant natural shade from large, established trees, offering a cool retreat for pets and owners. Amenities within the fenced zone include park benches and a sheltered picnic area with tables. Outside the enclosure, the park transitions into the expansive Sandgate foreshore. During low tide, the tidal flats become a popular off-leash destination where dogs can run across the sand and swim in the shallow waters or nearby creeks. A wide, paved pedestrian path follows the coastline, providing a scenic route for walking. The overall atmosphere is open and breezy, typical of a coastal park. While trash cans are visible near the gated areas, other specific facilities like public toilets or agility equipment are not evident in the images. The park's combination of grassy play areas and beach access makes it a premier spot for local dog owners.

I don't have a dog, but the dogs seem to love running free in such a large area of sand and water during low tide. And early in the morning and evening people enjoy walking their dogs along the bay.
