Rosebank Park

Unit 5/15 Farrell Ave, Darlinghurst, NSW

3.3(8 reviews)

Rosebank Park is a versatile urban green space located in a residential area near the waterfront. One section of the park is a beautifully landscaped pocket park tucked between apartment buildings, featuring lush green grass, mature shade trees that provide ample natural canopy, and well-maintained brick and concrete walking paths. This area is securely enclosed by tall metal fencing, creating a safe environment for local residents and their dogs. Another section of the park provides a much larger, open grassy field which includes a dedicated, fully fenced-in dog exercise area. This specific enclosure is equipped with a secure double-gate entry system and a waste bin for convenience. The park's scenic location offers views of a nearby harbor and a small sandy beach area. On-site facilities include several benches for seating and street lighting for visibility during the evening. The ground surface is predominantly grass, with some dirt patches in high-traffic areas. The overall atmosphere is tranquil and community-focused, providing both intimate garden spaces and functional off-leash areas for exercise.

I was looking for a spot to lie down to stretch my back, when a local thankfully warned me that this was where all the locals bring their dogs to pee and poop. An otherwise pleasant but very small space. Maybe sit on the bench seat or greet the dogs.

Dog poo park. Surrounded by fur baby owning, unit dwelling, anti dog excrement picking up humans who have chosen to use this possibly pleasant area as their "best friends" toilet. Not pleasant any more.

A small inlet of grass on an elevated platform from the street. Not a really relaxing place as there's an incredibly busy road nearby. Also it isn't as accessible as it looks. The lone bench seems pretty clean, but this small patch of grass is probably only good to just walk through.

This is the only park in the surroundings... so most people take their dogs there to poop on the grass - it's very dirty! Also, it has one seat available, so if you wanted to spend some time in there, the chances of needing to sit on the dirty grass are high.
