Charlestown Dog Exercise Area
113/115 Dudley Rd, Charlestown, NSW
The Gateshead Dog Exercise Area is a spacious, functional park situated in a quiet location next to a cemetery. It offers a large, open grassy field that provides ample room for dogs to run and play. A key feature is the substantial fenced-in section, which uses chain-link fencing to create a secure environment. Inside this enclosed area, there are a few picnic tables and a small metal-roofed pavilion providing some shade and a place for owners to sit. The ground surface is primarily natural grass, which can appear dry or patchy depending on the season. According to on-site signage, the area is designated for off-leash use during specific weekday morning hours. While the park lacks specialized agility equipment or extensive landscaping, its sheer size and the presence of a fenced zone make it a practical spot for local dog owners. Nearby parking is available, and the atmosphere is generally peaceful and open.

10 reviewsIt’s an unfenced open grass area, busy road going past.
Nice grassy area, with shady trees, but it is not fenced
Took the dog here around mid afternoon for a walk. Had him off leash and did a few laps. The place was clean, had shade along the tree line and water close by. Heaps of space to throw the ball or run around. Have driven past a few times and all the dogs and owners seem to get along well.
All the dogs and owners are great but it needs fencing

Great place to let your dogs run and play. Always friendly dog owners take their dogs there.
Great for youre fav fourlegged friend
I think it needs a fence along the main road
It's good dog parks exist but in comparison to other dog parks this one is pretty average. It's big enough for a game of fetch but it is not fenced and is next to a fairly busy road so you're dog needs to be trained to some degree. It also …
